Protected Cultivation and Entrepreneurship

 

Protected cultivation commonly referred to as polyhouse farming is a technology in which crops are growing in a controlled environment. The environment may be controlled fully, partially or modified to protect the crop from adversaries. The types of protected agriculture are forced ventilated greenhouse, naturally ventilated Polyhouse, insect-proof net house, shade net house, plastic tunnel and mulching, raised beds, trellising and drip irrigation. The farming conditions are controlled as per requirement for the production of safe food which is healthier and has continuity in supplies. The polyhouse cladding is of polyethylene, being translucent allows plants to thrive and flourish in controlled environmental conditions.

The objective of such trainings is to develop entrepreneurship in vegetables and flowers, so that the beneficiaries may undertake their own entrepreneurship for harnessing better returns from the activity.
